Dr Jairam completed his undergraduate medical degree through the University of Witwatersrand in 2002. He then went on to specialise in internal medicine and sub-specialize in endocrinology and metabolism which he completed in 2014. He has been in private practice since 2015 and works as both a physician and endocrinologist. He enjoys all aspects of internal medicine and endocrinology; however, his main interests include diabetes, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, and obesity. He is a member of Society for Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes of South Africa and the Faculty of Consulting Physicians of South Africa. He serves as an advisory board member for numerous pharmaceutical companies involved in diabetes care.
