WFA Online High School is an online independent high school that delivers live, teacher-led education on the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) curriculum to learners across South Africa. The school is based in Bellville, Cape Town, and combines the structure of a traditional school with the flexibility of learning from home.
Live online classes
Learners follow a structured weekly timetable of live classes with qualified teachers, from 08:00 to 14:15 each school day. Every lesson is recorded and available on the WFA Connect learner portal, so learners can revise difficult concepts, catch up on missed work and prepare for assessments. Parents receive regular feedback on progress and performance.
Grades and subjects
WFA currently teaches Grades 8 to 11, with Grade 12 launching in 2027. Learners work towards the IEB National Senior Certificate. Language options include English and Afrikaans (Home Language or First Additional Language) as well as isiXhosa, isiZulu and Sesotho. From Grade 10, electives include Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Geography, History, IT, Tourism, Consumer Studies, Visual Arts, EGD, Dramatic Arts and Agricultural Sciences.
More than academics
Alongside the academic programme, WFA builds entrepreneurial thinking, leadership, digital confidence and practical life skills. The school is grounded in Christian values, with a focus on character, integrity and personalised support so that no learner gets lost behind a screen.
Admissions
Families can apply online, book a callback or attend a Virtual Open Day. Fees are published on the school’s website and can be paid monthly or annually at a discount.
