Scenic Country Park Setting
Cedar Junction is located 8 km east of the Solomon Mahlangu (formerly Hans Strijdom) intersection on Lynnwood Road in Zwavelpoort. The park spans an outdoor grassed area of approximately 8.5 hectares and offers sweeping views across a 2-hectare lake at the foot of the Bronberg Mountain range. Visitors can enjoy a relaxed countryside atmosphere within a secure and well-maintained environment, making it an ideal destination for families, groups, and day visitors looking to escape the city.
Miniature Train Experience
One of the park’s standout attractions is its fully operational 7.25-inch miniature railway. The 1.2 km train track runs throughout the scenic grounds and is serviced by two trains, built as detailed replicas of full-size locomotives. The train journey takes passengers through tunnels, across bridges, and around the park, offering picturesque views of the surrounding landscape while providing a unique and enjoyable ride for visitors of all ages.
Summer Water Park and Swimming Pools
During the summer season, Cedar Junction offers a variety of water-based attractions designed for both children and adults. The park features three swimming pool areas with a total of twelve water slides. Each slide has clearly indicated age and weight restrictions to ensure safety.
At the back of the park, visitors will find three high-speed slides for thrill seekers. In the central section, there is a baby swimming pool with small slides designed for toddlers, alongside additional slides for older children. Towards the front of the park, guests can relax in the Lazy River area, which includes three slides and Pool 1. These facilities provide a refreshing way to enjoy warm summer days in a fun and family-friendly setting.
Family Activities and Amusement Rides
Beyond the water attractions, Cedar Junction offers a variety of activities throughout the park. Children can enjoy jungle gyms, roundabouts, and a range of amusement rides including the horse carousel, cup-and-saucer rides, and flying swings. The miniature train rides remain one of the most popular activities, offering entertainment for both children and adults.
Winter Activities and Picnics
During the winter months, when the water attractions are closed, visitors can still enjoy many of the park’s activities that do not require water. The park is closed during July, but outside of that period guests are welcome to pack a picnic basket and spend the day relaxing in the peaceful surroundings. The open grass areas and natural setting make it a pleasant place to unwind and enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside.
Booking Requirements
Bookings are required for all visits, including both lapa reservations and walk-in guests. Reservations must be made in advance for weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.
During weekdays the park does not open for groups smaller than 50 people.
Seasonal Closures
