Springfield Park, officially known as Umgeni Business Park, is an industrial suburb of Durban in the eThekwini municipality of KwaZulu-Natal. It lies about 10 km north-east of the Durban city centre.
The uMngeni River divides the area into northern and southern parts. Newlands West and KwaMashu lie to the west along the M21, Umgeni Park and Prospect Hall to the east, Westville to the west along the M19, and Briardene and Avoca to the north along the R102.
The southern part is one of Durban's most popular retail nodes, with clothing, motor and hardware retail. Springfield Value Centre, made up mainly of factory stores, and the adjacent Springfield Retail Centre are the two main retail centres along the M19, and a Makro store stands next to the Value Centre.
The northern part is home to businesses in home improvement, auto repair, packaging and timber. Warehousing, manufacturing, wholesale distribution and transport operations also make Springfield one of Durban's established industrial and logistics nodes.
Access is straightforward. The N2 passes to the west, with connections at the M19 Umgeni Interchange and the M21, while Umgeni Road (M19), Inanda Road (M21) and Chris Hani Road (R102) link the area to the rest of the city and to Durban Harbour.
